Save Panhe and San Onofre Public Hearing September 22, 2008

The U.S. Department of Commerce has rescheduled the public hearing on the proposed toll road through the sacred Native American site of Panhe and San Onofre State Beach. The hearing will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2008, at O’Brien Hall at the Del Mar Fairgrounds at 2260 Jimmy Durante Boulevard in Del Mar, CA.

Send a letter to the Commerce Department to support saving the sacred Native American site of Panhe and San Onofre State Beach. See a sample letter at www.savepanhe.org and www.savesanonofre.org.

The Commerce Department will conduct a lottery to select speakers from elected officials, organizations, tribes, and individuals who submitted requests to testify by September 12, 2008. The list of speakers will be published soon.

On September 22, Surfrider and its partners will be arranging carpools and buses.
