Voices Behind the Wall is a photo, art and spoken word exhibit by youth in the probation system at Camp David Gonzales in the Santa Monica National Recreation Area. Click on the image or here for more details.

PFC David Gonzales (1923-45) was a soldier from East L.A. who received the Medal of Honor and was killed during WW II.  His mother asked that a park be named in his memory.  Pacoima Park in was renamed David M. Gonzales/Pacoima Recreational Center. The local Army recruiting station there also carries his name, as does the county Probation Department camp.
