Proposed City Council Resolution in Support of Equitable Federal and State Funding of Urban Parks, Urban Greening, and the Revitalization of the Los Angeles River
The Center supports significant funding for urban parks in any infrastructure bond this year and beyond as part of a comprehensive plan to promote economic, environmental, and equitable development for all, and making sure that underserved communities receive their fair share of those public benefits.
Los Angeles City Councilmembers Ed Reyes and Tom LaBonge have proposed a City Council resolution that urges the City to include in its 2005-2006 Legislative Program sponsorship and support of legislation which would provide federal and/or state funding for support and development of urban parks, urban greening, urban forestry, protection of open space and the revitalization of the Los Angeles River in an equitable way for all of Los Angeles County.
