USA and Galaxy star Landon Donovan kicks the opening goal at the new Nike pitch.

Our client the Anahuak Youth Soccer Association headed by Raul Macias and the Center for Law in the Public Interest joined the community, soccer stars, and public officials to celebrate the opening of the new soccer pitch donated by Nike in Glassell Park in Northeast Los Angeles along the Los Angeles River on April 26, 2006. Soccer superstars Landon Donovan from the men’s USA national team, and Brandi Chastain, 1999 USA Women’s World Cup Champion, inaugurated the soccer field with hundreds of children and their families and friends, including City Council President Eric Garcetti and Councilmember Jose Huizar.

The simple joys of playing in the park for the children of Anahuak.
