Robert Garcia will speak on The Power of Justice and Collaboration at the Congress of the National Recreation and Park Association in Seattle, Washington with Fran Mainella, Director, The National Park Service, and Gene Duvernoy, President, Cascade Land Conservancy, on Thursday, October 12, from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Over 10,000 people will attend the Congress.
Councilman Ed Reyes and the Los Angeles City Council are celebrating the new Los Angeles State Historic Park by presenting resolutions honoring the Chinatown Yard Alliance(pdf), the California Department of Parks and Recreation, the California State Parks Foundation, and Not A Cornfield on Friday, October 13, at 10:00 a.m. at City Hall in the Council Chamber.
