Park Service Centennial Initiative Listening Session March 29, 2007, L.A.
Here is an opportunity to participate in an upcoming National Park Service Centennial Initiative Listening Session on March 29, 2007, in Los Angeles at (location TBD). The City Project passes along the following information from Deborah DeMeo of the National Parks Conservation Association.
The listening sessions are being held all over the U.S. and are intended to collect the visions people have for their national parks. In conjunction with with Rep. Hilda Solis and her proposed planning bill for a park unit dedicated to Cesar Chavez (H.R. 359), the National Park Service sees these listening sessions as an opportunity to more fully represent Latino heritage and values within the park service. By 2016, the 100th year anniversary of the National Park Service, the Service hopes to have restored the health of our national parks, and celebrate the legacy for future generations.
