The City Project Spring 2007 Newsletter is available online!

The Newsletter highlights the progress and accomplishments of our first six months including:

-Healthy Parks, Schools, and Communities: Mapping Green Access and Equity for the Los Angeles Region. The report is a guide for creating healthy, livable communities for all. Copies are available at www.cityprojectca.org/mapping.

-Shall We Gather at the River: Rio de Los Angeles State Park Grand Opening on Earth Day.

-Celebrating Bruce’s Beach. Southern California celebrated the renaming of an ocean front park back to Bruce’s Beach.

-Oil Drilling and Community Health in Baldwin Hills. The Baldwin Hills community and park are once again at risk with the proposed expansion of oil drilling nearby, and an area environmental impact report is in the works.

-Los Angeles River Revitalization Master Plan. The City Project with the Alianza de los Pueblos del Rio submitted public comments to improve the LARRMP.

-Principles for Equal Justice. The City Project and the Alianza de los Pueblos del Rio have presented 10 principles for equal justice for healthy, livable communties, and revitalizing the Los Angeles River.

-The City Project in the News!

-Transit to Trails for Anahuak Youth. The pilot project has launched to national attention with Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne.
