The Los Angeles City Council voted today to require a supplemental environmental impact report (EIR) for a luxury housing project on Elephant Hill in El Sereno in Tract 35022. The supplemental EIR will help engage and empower the community to decide the future of North East Los Angeles Open Space.

As the Los Angeles Times has emphasized, East L.A. is entitled to open space protection, just as West L.A. is.
