“I commend the Greater Baldwin Hills Alliance for committing to ensure community participation in the review of the Environmental Impact Report. This coalition of health, environmental and neighborhood organizations play an important part in the process to ensure that the community is not forced to endure potential health hazards associated with the oil drilling operations. The Baldwin Hills area residents must have the opportunity to be an active participant in the process in order to develop the highest standards of environmental integrity for the region. I support the efforts of the Alliance to guarantee that the voices of the community will be heard and that a realistic time frame will be provided for review. ” —- Speaker Karen Bass
