The old Japanese American National Museum Little Tokyo was formerly the Hompa Hongwanjii Buddhist Temple and designated at Cultural Historical Landmark 313 by the City of Los Angeles. Constructed 1924-25, it was one of the first religious structures serving Asian Americans in Los Angeles. The building has three sections that are architecturally distinct from each other.
