EXTENDING TRANSIT TO TRAILS AND NATIONAL PARK SERVICE PARTNERSHIP

NEWSLETTER SUMMER 2008

Transit to Trails is a creative partnership between Anahuak Youth Association, The City Project, and Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA).

We have extended Transit to Trails for 2008-09 with Anahuak on trips leaving from Rio de Los Angeles State Park at Taylor Yard. We are also extending Transit to Trails to Vista Hermosa Park in downtown Los Angeles, working with local groups there, and to Southeast L.A., working with Old Timers’ Foundation. We also seek to institutionalize Transit to Trails through the SCAG planning process.

The National Park Service has selected Transit to Trails for the Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program. The NPS will collaborate with The City Project, Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority, and youth groups including Anahuak Youth Association to serve community recreation and conservation needs.
