The City Project has submitted public comments on behalf of the Titan Group regarding the El Monte Transit Village draft environmental impact report. The comments focus on parks and active recreation to help improve health and the quality of life for the diverse community, links to the Emerald Necklace along the Rio Hondo and San Gabriel River, and affordable housing and local jobs to guard against displacement and gentrification. The Park El Monte Improvement Association (PEMIA) comments urge the city to support the Transit Village. “We are pleased that our concerns have been addressed and incorporated into the project. . . . PEMIA will continue to provide input as to newly formed support programs, detailed design, and future management of park land.”
The El Monte American Little League comments endorse the Transit Village. “Having a safe and modern facility strengthens our ability to provide a comprehensive sports program to the children of El Monte, all in a friendly park setting that everyone can enjoy.”
The San Gabriel & Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy comments address parks and recreation, the Emerald Necklace, habitat and hydration.
